Integrity

President Joseph F. Smith called integrity, "the cornerstone of character". What does this have to do with me or with the business world? Integrity means that we are honest and have strong moral principles. I loved thinking about this subject this week. Integrity isn't just important with our job, it is one of the most important attributes you can have in this life. In Sister Sheri L. Dew's talk, "True Blue, Through and Through", she talks about 7 things that will help each of us become men and women of integrity.

  1. "Decide today, once and for all, that you be worth of trust.
  2. Have faith that the Lord can and will help you, and then diligently seek His help.
  3. Make covenants and keep them.
  4. Stand up for what you believe.
  5. Expect you integrity to be challenged.
  6. Don't give up!
  7. Renew your covenants with our Father and His Son to do what you came here to do."
Integrity is at the center of who we are. Who do I want to be? I want to be someone who people can trust. I want people to know what I stand for and never back down for anyone or anything. Those who know me, work with me, or come in contact with me will know who I am, what I believe, and that they can trust me in all things. Sister Dew says, "Integrity is the foundational virtue upon which all other virtues are dependent". Being in my 40s, I find it so much easier to know who I am, and whose I am. I don't let the world dictate what I do or how I do it. I always think about what the Savior would do. Am I the same person when I am by myself as the person that people see? I am. With me you see what get.
